To identify your strengths and bring more flow into your life
The positive psychology movement, founded in part by Martin Seligman,
PhD focuses on enhancing what’s good in life rather then fixing what’s
wrong.
"Research on positive psychology provides compelling evidence" says
Seligman, "that individuals can increase their happiness and wellbeing by
identifying and engaging in their signature strengths. The more we use these
strengths the more steadily we advance into the good life, a life of
immersion, absorption, and flow."
Flow (or flourishing) is a state of deep focus that occurs when engaged
in challenging tasks that demand intense concentration and commitments. For
instance: leading people on a hazardous mission, writing a novel or creating
a new operating system. Some people become so deeply focused when writing or
drawing they experience an almost euphoric state of joy and pleasure in the
process.
The following is an example of a coaching psychology strategy used by
Potential Unlimited to identify your strengths so you may find niches in
which you can work optiminally and flourish while using these strengths.

COACHING STRATEGY
Finding Authentic Happiness
- Do you want to be happy and fulfilled at work and
in life?
- Are you ready to move forward and make positive
changes for greater work life satisfaction?
- Would you like to know how positive psychology can
help you realise your potential for lasting fulfilment?
Take Action Challenge
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions take
the Values in Action (VIA) questionnaire at
www.authentichappiness.org and discover your top
five strengths. It will take around 45 minutes to
complete and you’ll receive a comprehensive report of
your strengths at no cost.
You can use this information to: 1) assess how you
use your strengths 2) set goals to bring more flow into
your life and 3) nurture your strongest qualities for
more enduring work life satisfaction. |
When you bring flow into your life success becomes
easier, more attainable because you do what you want to do
and enjoy the process. Work becomes challenging and like a
new baby learning to walk you don’t give up until you
achieve your goal.
If you decide to begin life or corporate coaching bring the results with
you to your first coaching session. These results will be used to help you
set goals to realise your potential for lasting fulfilment.
