Life Coaching for Women
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
- Eleanor Roosevelt
If you’re looking for ways to develop your natural strengths more
rapidly, to produce more satisfying results either on or off the job, you
might consider hiring a professional coach who can work with you in all
areas of your life including business, career, health, spiritual, family and
relationships.
Coaching can rekindle lost passion and energy and give you the feeling of
being back in control of your life…at last.
Coaching empowers you to make significant change in your life, to
harness your potential, like a rose unfolding, and create the lifestyle
YOU WANT, really, really want to achieve!
- Barbara E Miller
Total Life Design
More and more people are turning to life coaching to follow their dreams,
improve performance, enhance relationships and achieve goals. The Life
Coaching Programs offered by Potential Unlimited are more about "total life
design", which inspire you how to achieve your goals.
Using proven methods and strategies from the new discipline of coaching
psychology, your coach guides you through a process of self-transformation.
Benefits for You
Coaching psychology is more about asking questions than giving answers.
When you work with a life coach/psychologist you learn to:
- Clarify your purpose and values
- Reinvent or rediscover yourself
- Develop and carry out action plans
- Ask the right questions - the answers will come!
Although not always easy, coaching changes and transforms you. It’s about
increasing your motivation, telling your own story and creating your own
dreams.
"Truly effective life coaching unleashes the individual spirit and deep
desires," says therapist and life coach Patrick Williams, "it expands the
client’s capacity to achieve real change, and perhaps even provides personal
transformation".
Co-Active Coaching Program
Co-active coaching features new skills for coaching women towards success
in work and life. It’s a two way, holistic process that:
Addresses the whole person-with an emphasis on producing action and
uncovering learning that can lead to more fulfilment, more balance, and a
more effective process for living.
- Whitworth, Kimsey-House & Sandahl, Co-Active Coaching.
The following is a guide as to how a program works over a three-month
period with fortnightly sessions.
Program 1: Goal Seekers
Session 1: Taking Stock of Your Life
Session 2: The Dynamics of Change
Session 3: Maximising Motivation
Session 4: Focusing on Solutions
Session 5: Staying on Track
Session 6: Celebrating Success or Continuing Program.
Subsequent sessions are added for on-going goal achievement or skills
development to achieve work life balance.
This is not a ‘one-size fits all’ program. Sessions are client generated.
You set the agenda for each session. If emergencies or unexpected events
occur that can be dealt with first. The format is flexible, adaptable and
creative.
Goal Achievers
The following is an example of ten goals clients have achieved through
the Goal Seekers Program.
- Developed confidence and began tertiary study
- Earned a six-figure income at 32
- Quit a stressful job - and was headhunted into another
- Re-organised a business - and became pregnant at 40
- Managed anxiety and become director of a multi-national company
- Left a dysfunctional relationship and won a top job at 50
- Overcame fears and changed career
- Used courage and intuition to write a life story
- Achieved a PhD and enhanced relationships
- Began a second degree at 80 (my mother)
|
It’s important to remember that meaningful change takes time and effort.
This program shows you how to become more than a dreamer. It shows you how
to become a goal achiever in all areas of your life. |
Program 2: Fast Tracking for Success (Telephone)
Features a goals specific program with (6 –12 x 30 minute) telephone
coaching sessions scheduled weekly or fortnightly. Requires self-directed
learning, specific goals and focused commitment.
Telephone sessions are booked in advance and the client calls the coach
at an agreed time or the coach will call back when suitable. Brief cyber
coaching (e-mail) is provided to touch base and to motivate.
Some of the more common reasons for seeking telephone or cyber
life coaching are:
- Work
: Cope with stress and build resilience
- Career:
Feel the fear and change career
- Relationship:
Spice up relationships with a 7- step plan
- Health
: Enhance mood, improve wellbeing and boost energy.
- Spirit: Use creativity to bring more flow and joy into life
- Community: Develop networking skills to make a difference with people.
If you’re ready and willing to make changes in any aspect of your life,
telephone coaching can help you focus, clarify and align your values with
your goal/s (one goal at a time) as well as help you set up a game plan for
life.
Program 3: A Day in the Life of…
Occasional sessions can provide timely interventions for women working in
demanding occupations.
For instance life coaching can help you with:
- Problem solving - a personal or business situation.
- Debriefing – after a challenging and difficult day or situation.
- Briefing and preparation – prior to a demanding appointment,
presentation or job interview.
- Health and wellbeing - on matters related to stress, illness or injury
and work/life issues.
- Feedback – on any matter related to your physical and personal
presentation.
- Support - during unavoidable life or family crises or emergencies.

Coaching Process
Your life coach guides you through the process of setting and achieving
goals using coaching psychology (evidence based strategies) that are
tailored to suit your needs, temperament and leaning style.
The process is enhanced with cyber coaching (by e-mail) and
individualised skills development. Clients can e-mail any concerns and
issues to their coach, at any time, and can expect up to 5 responses per
calendar month.
- Extra brief telephone-calls can be made to touch base and keep the
momentum flowing.
- Special arrangements are made when either party goes on leave.
- These conditions are outlined in the coaching agreement you receive
when you commit to a program.
Your Coach
Your coach is Barbara E Miller, a registered psychologist, life coach and
trainer and principal of Potential Unlimited, a training and development
consultancy based in Canberra ACT.
As a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Barbara
develops highly personalised and confidential relationships with her
clients, which are based on absolute integrity and a sustained commitment to
doing what’s best for the client.
Since the year 2000 she has focused almost exclusively on life coaching
for women assisting them to design their ideal future and achieve goals in
their personal and professional lives. (See
Consultant’s Profile)
Client Feedback
Barbara uses well targeted coaching methods without
appearing to be too structured and still making you feel as if you are just
having a conversation with a friend. I liked the occasional email coming
between sessions, recalling issues discussed at the last session and
directing your mind forward to the next session. I believe Barbara’s
coaching methods achieve the right balance between intimacy and detachment".
- Legal Officer
When I achieved my goal it all seemed so easy. Thank you Barbara, for
passing on your strategies that not only helped me achieve my goal, but have
given me the confidence to pursue other goals.
- Waitress & Fitness Consultant
Since I began life coaching I’ve embarked on a science degree and my life
is on track. I certainly don’t worry as much as I did in the past and have
coping strategies for when things take a turn for the worse. I’m really glad
I did the program and feel much more confident about the future.
-Teacher
Since working with Barbara, I feel more confident about a number of
issues as I better understand what drives me and why I approach things the
way I do. It was useful to discuss issues and get them off my chest, and
receive some non-judgemental feedback. One of the particularly beneficial
elements has been freeing up my mind – rather than re-hashing and covering
old ground, which allowed me to concentrate on more important things.
- Manager/Accountant
After visiting many psychologists/counsellors over 14 years I have never
felt that my problem had been understood and therefore I did not progress.
Barbara has changed all that. I feel much more positive now about the
future.
- Human Resources Manager
It was through Barbara’s gentle and supportive approach to coaching that
I was able to recognise both internal and external factors that were holding
me back from completing my PhD – one of the most important goals in my life!
Barbara led me through a 6-session program, which helped me gain insight
about myself and gave me practical strategies to increase control over my
life.
- Academic.
How to Begin
If you choose to proceed with a program, the first meeting is scheduled
at professional rooms during business hours and thereafter at various
locations to suit work commitments and lifestyle preferences. For instance,
some women prefer a quiet café, the comfort and privacy of my home office or
the ambience of an art gallery. The choice is yours!
Walk & Talk Sessions
Outdoor programs are designed to calm the mind and soothe the soul. For
instance, ‘walk & talk’ sessions by the lake are popular for women who like
to tone up the body as well as the mind. These are ideal for lunchtime
sessions and women who work in the city .
Time Commitment
To achieve worthwhile outcomes comprehensive programs range from six to
twelve sessions over three months. Some clients continue for years or resume
periodically during life or career transitions to rekindle lost passion or
achieve new goals.
- Sessions are normally held weekly or fortnightly with appointments
scheduled in advance. Times vary: 30 minutes (telephone) or from 1 to 1.5
hours (face-to-face). After hours consultations are available if required.
- Agreement is made at the first session as to how you want to use your
time with your coach. Some women prefer longer face-to-face sessions,
others like shorter telephone sessions. A combination often works well for
busy women.
You will need to allow at least an hour a week in your own time to
complete assignments and take up coaching challenges.
|
At any stage you can elect to continue working with your coach to set
further goals. Or take up therapeutic or other referral options if required.
Confidentiality is assured at all times. |
Schedule of Fees
Fees are based on an hourly rate with travel time (to different venues)
built into your program. Potential Unlimited is a registered ACT Health Fund
Provider. Rebates and concessions may apply.
For a schedule of fees contact us.
Obligation Free Consultation
If you know, or suspect life coaching would make a big difference in your
life, a brief telephone interview is set up to discuss issues, goals etc.,
(sometimes clients may wish to remain "voice anonymous" which is fine) and
assessments will then be made via e-mail.
- You can email (suggest three dates and times) or telephone to book an
obligation free telephone assessment, which takes about 30 – 45
minutes.
- Follow up cyber coaching (by email) is provided as well before
you begin your coaching program.
Once you commit to a life coaching program it:
Opens up possibilities
Works on behavioural and emotional levels
Unlocks potential and creativity
Focuses on results and takes you to where you want to be.
I look forward to working with you.
With warm wishes,
